The Waltenberherg Haus is (was) a very old mountain hut in the Allgäu Alps not far from Oberstdorf. When I was there the first time with my grandpa I was still a child. In the hut there are still very old alpine guest books from the time before and during World War II. Unfortunately it will be ripped off and rebuild in 2015.

In a clear and moonless night I was able to take some photos of the mountains and the sky. I was using a tripod and a Fujifilm X-T1 camera to do different longtime exposures of our Milky Way. Even with the naked eye it was amazing to see all the stars up there.

While standing outside the hut and looking into the space I didn’t even realize that it was getting colder and colder outside. Only after finishing all the photos I suddenly realized that my fingers were almost frozen :-P.
